Life Coaching

Life Calling & Career is proud to offer free life coaching services for all Marion-campus students. Life coaching is a collaborative process of powerful questions, personal discovery, and intentional change. IWU’s certified life coaches partner with students to help them explore academic majors, their sense of purpose, career paths, and areas where they feel “stuck.”

Coaching enables students to gain a more holistic understanding of themselves, empowering them to make choices that align with their values, purpose, and strengths. All IWU students can meet with a Life Coach for multiple, personalized one-on-one sessions, typically 45 minutes each. Students may also explore Spiritual Direction with one of IWU’s certified Spiritual Directors.

Life Coaching at Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is a free service designed to help students clarify their purpose, explore challenging life questions, and make intentional decisions. By focusing on what students want and how to get there, IWU’s ICF-certified life coaches empower students to build habits and gain self-awareness, confidence, and direction for a purposeful college experience. This past year, 100% of clients reported accomplishing the goals that brought them to life coaching.

Types of Life Coaching

We offer a variety of coaching concentrations tailored to student needs, including:

  • Leadership coaching (developing professional capacity and capability)
  • Vocational discovery coaching (discovering what you’re here to do for work and school)
  • Assessment-based coaching (exploring results from personality assessments)

With these options, students can pursue the most meaningful path for their personal and professional development.

Personality Assessments

Our life coaches utilize a range of assessments and tools to help students discover their strengths and enhance growth. While several personal assessments are used, the most well-known include:

  • CliftonStrengths
  • MBTI
  • Enneagram
  • Big Five

Workshops

Our coaches facilitate workshops each semester on topics like personality assessments, leadership development, team dynamics, conflict navigation, and more. These specialized sessions create unique opportunities for students across campus to engage in personal discovery and professional growth.
